About the role
As a Senior Logistics Employee at IL Distribution (USA), you play a key role in ensuring smooth, efficient, and reliable warehouse operations. You combine hands-on logistics work with a strong sense of ownership for processes, quality, and continuous improvement. You work closely with the Supply Chain Specialist / Logistics Supervisor and act as a day-to-day reference point within the warehouse. While this role is not a formal people management position, you support and guide (junior) colleagues and contribute actively to improving workflows and efficiency.
This role is influenced by seasonality, with peak periods between March and October, requiring flexibility during busier operational phases.
Key Responsibilities

Warehouse & Operations
· Independently manage inbound and outbound logistics processes
· Receive and validate incoming goods against purchase orders
· Ensure correct storage, labeling, and handling of all products
· Oversee order picking, packing, and shipment preparation
· Act as a point of contact for daily operational logistics questions
Inventory & Quality Control
· Monitor inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies
· Lead and perform daily, weekly, and periodic cycle counts
· Reconcile inventory differences and support root-cause analysis
· Identify product defects, damages, or deviations and ensure proper documentation
· Measure and maintain accurate product dimensions (cubing)
Shipping & Carriers
· Coordinate with carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL partners)
· Request and evaluate shipping quotes, including express shipments
· Support shipment planning to optimize cost and delivery performance
Process Improvement & Support
· Identify inefficiencies and propose improvements to logistics processes
· Support onboarding and day-to-day guidance of logistics employees
· Ensure warehouse standards related to safety, cleanliness, and organization are upheld
· Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders via Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and phone
Seasonal & Cross-Functional Support
During quieter periods, you may contribute to:
· Assembly of semi-finished products
· Stock management and system optimization
· Supporting Customer Service or Inside Sales when needed
· Operational support during events or internal projects
· Maintaining the building
What we're looking for
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education in logistics or supply chain is a plus)
· Minimum 3–5 years of experience in logistics or warehouse operations
· Strong understanding of warehouse processes and inventory management
· Experience with WMS systems (experience with ShipHero or similar is a plus)
· Ability to lift up to approximately 50 lbs and perform physical warehouse tasks
· Forklift and warehouse equipment certification (or willingness to obtain)
· Valid driver’s license
